The overwhelming majority of my clients (all in their 50s & 60s) tell me their lives today don't bear any resemblance to the lives they hoped they'd be living once upon a time. And not in a good way

Little in the way of pension or savings to show for a lifetime of work and now crunch time is looming, retirement. We all grow old, but to be old and pretty much broke doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me

Surely retirement should be the time to reward ourselves by doing all the stuff we've been putting off, all these years. But if there's neither enough income, free time or freedom from the fixed schedule of a job, how's that ever going to happen?

It's because of excuses, procrastination, self-doubt, fear of trying something new. Perhaps it's because of looking foolish in front of friends. It's because of "waiting for the right time", feeling unprepared, or being unwilling to do what's required, either the commitment to a study schedule, or the monetary investment to re-skill. It's because of choosing to remain in the comfort zone. It's because of learned helplessness, in other words... "I can't do that". There isn't enough time. I'm too old, it's too late. It's because nothing worthwhile comes easy. It's because you don't want it badly enough

 

This list goes on and on... What's your excuse? Or do you have more than one?

But then, why are you reading this message? Isn't there part of you that knows life can be so much better?  And that you are worthy of more?

A day in the life of an online business owner…

 

What do your days look like John? Well, they feel very much like early retirement. I have to show up on 4 Zoom calls every month, so that's 4 hours right there, and I check in on my email in case there are enquiries but I don't have alerts on my phone. The idea here is we set up a business that requires only minimal input to maintain. Obviously there's work to do up front, this isn't a get-rich-quick scheme or a scam. Who's the owner, keeper & master of your time, you or your boss?

Do you have to ask permission to take even half a day off? And how much holiday are you allowed? Four or five weeks in a year, maybe

 

Doesn't this seem wrong?

 

Can you imagine how much higher the quality of your life would be if you were in control of your time? What if you got to decide - when you work, when you don't work, and when to take months off, instead of a couple of weeks?

There is no end to this way of working. That's why it's also called the 'hamster wheel'. Unless you upgrade yourself with new skills you will continue to trade away your time for the rest of your working life

 

But we now live in the 21st century, this is no longer the industrial but the digital revolution. Rules have changed. You now have access to simple, friendly, inexpensive online tools that can automate the sales process, which means you can easily automate your income

How to turn every dollar into three

 

Let's talk about one way you could automate your income online, by advertising something for sale. The big idea is you spend one dollar advertising your offer, it sells, and you get back three dollars or more

 

If you double your advertising spend you're doing ok, but if you can 3X your ad spend or better, you should increase your advertising budget, and therefore increase your income accordingly

You can see how simple it is to determine how much you earn just as soon as you have an offer and ad that are profitable

 

I personally know one affiliate who launched an advert online which brought him $1.4+ million in commissions. He spent around a third of that on advertising, but why wouldn't you with a return on investment like that?!

That's a lot of books, in fact if you stacked them end to end they'd reach the Earth's core and if you stacked them on top of each other they'd reach 640 kilometres high, out beyond the atmosphere, twice the distance from the Earth's surface of some low-orbit satellites. So, why am I bringing this to your attention today?

 

Here goes... and my intent isn't to offend anyone here, rather it's to shift your thinking, because if you keep thinking you can't afford something, telling yourself you can't afford something, and believing you can't afford that thing then guess what? That becomes reality, for you

 

Instead consider this - ask yourself "How can I afford it?" whatever it may be. This is the difference between a poor mindset and a rich mindset

For example… Instead of telling yourself you can't afford to invest in your personal & professional development, did you ever consider what not investing in yourself is costing you? 

 

By not investing in you, you're not helping yourself. May I respectfully suggest that rather, you're holding yourself back

I know you have goals and dreams and aspirations, we all do. What do you think makes the difference between those people who move towards their goals, and those who never get unstuck?

 

The winners learn what they need to learn, to achieve what they want to achieve

 

If you want to be paid more it's important to understand that you must first become worth more. This is self-evident. Obvious. If you want to improve your circumstances you must first improve yourself. The consequence of not improving yourself is to continue as you are - no change or improvement. A future of exactly the same year on repeat

 

When you're ready to invest in your own education, in improving yourself, in re-skilling, in becoming seriously valuable, only then will your income and lifestyle improve. This is natural law

So , how do you earn money online?

Did you ever wonder how those people sitting in coffee shops playing around on their laptops are making it pay? If so, you're not alone. It looks mysterious, how on earth are they making any money?

I received this enquiry just recently... "what exactly helped you during your one year transition [to earning online] that is essential to know - from your own first hand experience?"

Here's the reply I sent... Very simple, you have to educate yourself 

You see, here’s the thing... you don't know that there are alternative ways of earning income. Ways that automate income. When income is automated you no longer need a job. When you no longer need a job you are free to design your life any way you want to live

So, you must educate yourself. You have to know what is possible. You have to understand how to take advantage of new opportunity for yourself. I hope this is clear?

Obviously, this advice (my experience) is only going to work for anyone if they're prepared to do the necessary study & work required by the online business education programme

 

You study, you do the work just once, upfront, setting up automated sales & marketing systems, then you get paid over and over, month after month. This is what automated income looks like. You no longer need a job. Money flows. You're free. Design your new life

 

But, if you're not prepared to educate yourself and so learn about automated income and how it works you may as well go your own way

 

There is no other way. There are no short cuts. There is study and work to be done. You'll be guided. You'll be walked by the hand. You'll have support groups, mentors, experts to call on. But if you want to earn automated income online you simply have to educate yourself

 

That person who asked the question above may genuinely not understand that this is what's required. That person may be looking for some magic pill. That person may be sceptical and think it's all just a scam

 

But, how can they, or you, or anyone, know what they don't know?

 

The answer is education. Always will be. You want more you've gotta become worth more. You've got to upgrade yourself

Most people spend more money upgrading their phone, computer, tv, and car than they do upgrading themselves. Think about that. All those devices & things just go down in value over time. Instead, you could become more and more valuable if you chose to invest in yourself

There won't be enough money coming in to stop working.

Don't know about you, but I can't afford to retire. I'm not alone either. Only 5 - 15 percent of us (depending on which surveys you read) have either saved enough or will be provided with enough of a pension to sustain current lifestyles beyond the traditional retirement age of 65

 

It was 2020, when lockdown first hit, that I had time to think seriously about the future. I visited the UK Government website to look at my pension forecast, and as soon as I saw how little I'll receive at age 66 I knew there was a time-bomb ticking 

 

There won't be enough money coming in to stop working. Or, let's say I do stop working, then I'll be living in poverty. Growing old while broke. No thank you!

 

The world we've inherited is a far different world from the one we were promised. We used to believe the companies we worked for would train us, promote us and give us fat pensions and a gold watch. Yet now even employer loyalty's gone

 

So, the overwhelming majority of us will need to remain in this unstable, insecure workplace just to maintain the lifestyle we're accustomed to. It may be necessary for as long as we're physically and mentally able

 

Surely in 2023 there are better ways of earning an income? Ways that don't require us to sell away so much of our time, or do soul crushing work?  Or live in constant financial anxiety?

 

If we're obliged to remain engaged in the workplace, doesn't it make sense to work smart? To build assets that earn for us, that will make us financially self-reliant? Doesn't it make sense to do work that inspires, that we find meaningful, and rewarding? Doesn't it make sense to strive for freedom, and a higher quality experience of life?

 

Imagine... Six months from now, after you've been through basic study & training, you're starting to see income from your first online business. Within eighteen months you've surpassed your salary and are able to confidently quit your job. But the best part? You're now the owner of your time 

 

Financial freedom (to me) means having more money coming in than you need, while having the freedom to spend time as you choose. You can achieve this in under two years.
